Thai player Ekkarin Pisuth Arnonth competes in the final of the Phu My Hung Tennis Tournament - Photo: Dinh Dung Ekkarin Pisuth Arnonth from Thailand won the professional men’s division of the Phu My Hung Tennis Tournament on the weekend, taking home the VND15 million prize money.
The women’s professional division was also won by one of the four visiting Thai pros to the tournament, Kotcha Nattawadee when she beat a local player at Wonderland tennis courts in the new urban town in HCMC’s District 7.
The sporting event attracted some 480 players from 100 companies and organizations in the city competing in professional, semiprofessional and amateur divisions in about 900 matches.
The Phu My Hung Tennis Tournament was started as an amateur tournament about 10 years ago, in collaboration with HCMC Tennis Union, HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the sport center of District 7.
