A Japanese-made Nissan sedan caught fire in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday evening.

Actress Le Kim Khanh, the car owner, said she detected smoke and burning smell from the air conditioning system when driving with her friend from District 3 to District 1.
She then turned off the car engine and rushed out with the friend and shouted out for help.
Taxi driver and locals nearby, after learning the situation, used available fire extinguishers to put out the fire coming from the cockpit.
Khanh said she had her car’s gas tank filled up at a petrol station at the corner of Pasteur - Vo Thi Sau streets some days ago.

The police of Ben Thanh Ward have mobilized to the site for investigation and regulate traffic in this area.
Last month, the 31-year-old Tran Thi Dieu Huong in northern Hai Phong City luckily survived after her Kia Morning car suddenly burst into flame as she was driving.
In December 2011, a Mercedes E300 sedan in Hanoi started burning and was then completely destroyed when it was carrying four people.
Also in December, a four-seat Mazda and a Lacetti caught fire in northern provinces of Thanh Hoa and Bac Giang respectively.
