National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung paid a visit to the central province of Ha Tinh on Feb. 4, encouraging local authorities and people to boost production at the beginning of the lunar new year.

He said he is delighted with Ha Tinh province’s socio-economic achievements in 2011. He expressed his belief that the Party committee, authorities and people of Ha Tinh will fulfil its development targets for 2012, creating an impetus for the province’s five-year socio-economic development plan (2011-2015) as well as maintaining and strengthening the people’s trust in the Party and the authorities.
The Chairman noted key provincial officials to build its appropriate socio-economic development targets based on study of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress as well as to focus on management of projects on natural resource exploitation and use.
In 2011, Ha Tinh registered an economic growth rate of 11.7 percent with per capita income of 16 million VND a year, earned 70 million USD from export and attracted investment of nearly 10 trillion VND from the society.
This year, the province aims to obtain an economic growth rate of 13.5 percent and reduce the number of poor households to 16 percent.
It is also determined to boost production, especially in agriculture and develop the essential infrastructure system, increase goods quality and competitiveness.
