The office of the Lanta Viet Company resumed its operations on February 3 at the Hai Au resort in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan province, to serve stranded Russian tourists who bought the tour offered by Lanta Tour in Mui Ne.
Lanta Viet intended to reopen its office on February 2, but failed to do so because it was not provided with internet, fax, and landline telephone connection.
Given this, Lanta Viet distributed, at resorts and hotels in Mui Ne, its announcement of telephone hotlines for Russian tourists to contact the company and receive assistance.
The Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Ngo Minh Chinh, said that his agency had asked VNPT Binh Thuan to provide Lanta Viet with internet and telephone services so that the company could reopen its office to serve the Russian tourists as pledged.
The Lanta Viet office is expected to finish procedures on February 4 for an additional 60 Russian tourists to return to their home country.
