Despite cold and rainy weather, streams of people rushed to the pagoda, causing traffic jams on many road sections near Yen Stream.

Most guest houses in the festival area were filled. Room prices ranged between VND200,000-400,000 (USD9.52-19.04) per night. Many households took advantage of the occasion offer rooms for rent, which went for anywhere from VND50,000 to VND150,000 (USD2.38-7.14) per night.

Even though there is a public ferry, visitors had to bargain prices to cross Yen Stream.

Ticket prices to visit the pagoda, combined with ferry charges added up to around VND50,000 per person.

Prices of many other goods and services, such as food, votive paper and parking also increased. To keep a motorbike overnight cost VND15-25,000.

The organising board focused on ensuring environment protection. Dustbins were put in the area along the two sides of Yen Stream. Any visitor who littered was subject to a fine of between VND10,000 and VND300,000 (USD0.47-14.28)
