The Nha Guol communal house of the Co Tu ethnic people in Quang Nam Province’s Atieng Commune, has been used as a preschool class for local children.

The class located in Ta Vang Highlands Village currently provides education for 27 children aged between four and five, from the three local villages of Achieng, Ta Vang and Ahu.
Despite substandard learning conditions, these children enjoy their studies.
“Due to a serious shortage of facilities, we are compelled to arrange children of different ages in the same class. Most of these children come from disadvantaged families as their parents mainly make a living by tilling the fields,” said teacher Bh'ling Thi Hoa.
Hoa shared that due to difficult terrain, she had decided to move Hoa Mi preschool in Atieng communal centre to the highlands village of Ta Lang in order to facilitate access to education since November 2011.
Hoa, 24, from Ta Me Hamlet in Dong Giang District’s P’rao Commune, has worked as a preschool teacher in Tay Giang District for nearly five years. According to her, despite substandard teaching facilities, she’s greatly inspired by her job, along with children’s enthusiasm.
“The local parents were delighted when the new school location was moved, as it’s helped foster their children’s education,” said the village patriarch, Bloong Nhop.
