The association said the event welcomes applications from across the country, individuals, businesses, universities, colleges and vocational schools.
Besides showing good quality, participating products must have been commercialised for at least one year and be sold on the market.
Short listed products will be evaluated by industry representatives, IT experts and journalists, according to Vinasa.
Evaluation and selection will be categorised into five groups including best software, best e-commerce solutions, best IT solutions, new software and best foreign made software used in Viet Nam.
VINASA said March 15 would be the deadline for applicants while the awards ceremony will be held in Ha Noi by the end of April.
Initiated by VINASA in 2003, the Sao Khue Awards are designed to honour organisations and individuals that make a great contribution to the development of the IT and software industries in Viet Nam
Last year fifty-six IT products and services were honoured at event at which the AV Music Morpher Gold 5.0 software package by AVSoft Corporation was rated the most outstanding product.
